The Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) is partnering with the Minneapolis Karen, Somali, and Spanish language communities to present a series of Science Cafés that provide vital health information in a culturally responsive manner. A report describing their work was recently published by the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved. According to Assistant Professor Mickey Eder, PhD, “By talking about health issues in a way that reflects the daily life and experiences of each community, we opened the door to genuine conversations and ultimately built trust. Trust is a byproduct of effective communication.” CTSI is a Consortium member center. Read more on the CTSI website.
