The University of Minnesota's Masonic Cancer Center has been elected to the Consortium, bringing the total number of member centers to twenty. Masonic Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center and serves as the focal point for cancer research at the University. The Center's director, Prof. Douglas Yee, MD, was an active participant in the recent Research with Human Participants conference, serving on the planning committee and moderating a session on conflicts of interest and industry sponsorship. Prof. Yee also acted as commentator for last spring's Consortium-sponsored lecture by Dr. Muin Khoury, A Public Health Approach for Fulfilling the Promise of Genomics to Improve Health.
