The University of Minnesota Genomics Center (UMGC), a Consortium member, has received matching funds from the Office for the Vice President for Research to acquire devices and provide pilot projects for investigators working in next-generation sequencing (NGS). The award is part of the 2015 Research Infrastructure Investment Program, which facilitates interdisciplinary partnerships and strengthens the university’s research infrastructure. NGS, which has the potential to revolutionize genomic science, has grown to occupy over 75 percent of UMGC’s efforts over the past five years.
