Event Description

Economic globalization is a paradoxical phenomenon - spreading rapidly, yet fundamentally unstable. Globalization not only constitutes an overwhelming threat to the biodiversity of the planet, but it is altering the rationale for conservation in a way that would leave most of the earth's biota and ecosystems without a justification for preservation. All of this raises serious concerns about the fate of biodiversity after the inevitable collapse of globalization.
