Bioethics Community Loses Expert in Pediatric Ethics

The Consortium on Law and Values mourns the Dec. 30 passing of Donald Brunnquell, PhD, MA, LP, an expert in pediatric ethics. Dr. Brunnquell served as Director of the Office of Ethics at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota for 23 years. He was also an Affiliate Faculty member in the University of Minnesota’s Center for Bioethics, where he taught Pediatric Bioethics, as well as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Psychology. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was an active member of the Minnesota COVID Ethics Collaborative

Dr. Brunnquell received his doctorate in child clinical psychology from the University of Minnesota. He also completed a Master’s Degree in philosophy, concentrating in ethics, as a recipient of a Bush Foundation Leadership Fellows Grant.
