The University of Minnesota’s Water Resources Center (WRC), a Consortium Member Center, will soon launch a national search for its next director. Jeff Peterson, PhD, who has led WRC since 2015, announced that he will return full time to the faculty of the Department of Applied Economics next fall. During his tenure at WRC, Prof. Peterson has led the organization through a significant time of growth in terms of budget, staff, and programs. Among the new programs he and his team launched over the past nine years are the Minnesota Stormwater Research Program (MSRP), Watershed Innovations (WINS) grants program, and Minnesota Office for Soil Health. Also under his leadership, the Extension Water Resources program team was integrated into the WRC. Prof. Peterson will continue to lead the WRC as the search for the new director is conducted.
