The Minnesota Precision Medicine Collaborative (MPMC) was created as part of Phase I of the Grand Challenges Research initiative. An interdisciplinary working group identified health disparities in precision medicine as an opportunity for the University to advance the health of Minnesotans of diverse backgrounds. MPMC I focused on using 21st century technologies – including genomics, informatics, bioengineering, analysis of environmental exposures, and behavioral sciences – to tailor health care to the challenges facing individuals and their communities. Core to this project was partnering across the state of Minnesota with community members, patients, and healthcare providers to understand and effectively address major health problems.
Several demonstration projects have been launched; to learn more, visit the MPMC website.
