August 21, 2024

Susan Wolf, JD, UMN Professor of Law and Medicine and Consortium Chair, and John Bischof, PhD, UMN Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of the Center for Advanced Technologies for Preservation of Biological Systems (ATP-Bio), appeared on Minnesota Public Radio’s Minnesota Now program. They discussed their involvement in research for a possible lunar biorepository.  The research study, led by researchers at the Smithsonian Institution, proposes a plan to safeguard Earth’s endangered biodiversity through storage on the moon at extremely low temperatures, including an approach for governance of the facility and its contents. ATP-Bio is a Consortium Member Center.
