As part of the annual U of M Day at the Minnesota State Capitol in February, the BioTechnology Institute (BTI) along with the Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Innovation Center (BBIC) presented on research to support legislative requests. BTI Director Claudia Schmidt-Dannert, PhD, and her team highlighted the importance of Minnesota as a bioeconomy and research hub that benefits the state’s citizens and beyond.The team shared information about biotech research at the University including development of an environmentally safe spray that reduces disease in corn and an emerging technology that can remove forever chemicals from wastewater. BTI is a Consortium Member Center.
